The Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation Limited (TANSI) was incorporated in 1965 as a Company by taking over 64 industrial units which were under the control of the Directorate of Industries and Commerce and was registered under the Companies Act, 1956. TANSI started its production in these units. It manufacture of TNEB line materials, wooden & steel furniture, sheet metal fabrication works, manufacture of India Mark II hand pumps, spirit based surgical items, paints, civil interior works, baby weighing bar scales, etc.
